Last week, we had the absolute pleasure of handing over a beautiful new home to Mariette. Built with care and precision, this modern granny flat sits on the property of her sister and brother-in-law, Ronel and Ulrich, in Joyner.

Now, the family can stay connected while each having their own space, strengthening their bond in a way that only living close to loved ones can.

Mariette’s new home may be a one-bedroom design, but it is filled with warmth, functionality, and style. The full-sized kitchen and open-plan living area create a comfortable, spacious feel, while the high raked ceilings add an extra touch of elegance.

We can already picture the family enjoying morning coffees and afternoon chardonnays on the deck, sharing stories and creating lifelong memories.

Building Homes That Keep Families Together

The story of Mariette, Ronel, and Ulrich is becoming more common than ever. With the rising cost of rentals and the ongoing housing crisis, many Australian families are choosing to keep their loved ones close by adding modern, fully independent homes to their properties.

At Hoek Modular Homes, we understand that family is everything, and we are passionate about creating homes that allow multiple generations to live together while still maintaining privacy and independence.

Whether it’s providing a secure home for aging parents, giving young adults an affordable place to live while they save for their future, or simply ensuring that loved ones are just a few steps away, our modular homes provide the perfect balance of togetherness and autonomy.

Unlike traditional home additions, a modular home can be tailored specifically to your needs, designed to fit seamlessly onto your existing property without the need for major structural changes. Our homes offer comfort, style, and durability, making them a perfect solution for families who want to stay connected while respecting each other’s space.

A Hassle-Free Process – From Concept to Completion

At Hoek Modular Homes, we take pride in offering a stress-free and streamlined process from the initial consultation to the final handover. We know that navigating council approvals and compliance requirements can be daunting, which is why we handle everything for you.

Here’s how we make it easy:

  • Free, No-Obligation Site Inspection – We visit your property to assess the available space, discuss your requirements, and recommend the best placement and design.
  • Council Approvals & Compliance – We manage the entire approval process, ensuring that your new home complies with all local council regulations and zoning laws. No need for you to worry about paperwork or delays.
  • Utility Connections – Our team takes care of all necessary connections, including water, sewer, and electricity, so your home is move-in ready from day one.
  • High-Quality Construction – Our modular homes meet all Australian Class 1A residential construction codes and are fully engineered for safety, longevity, and energy efficiency.
  • Fast and Efficient Build Time – Unlike traditional builds that can take months or even years, our modular homes are built off-site and installed quickly, minimising disruption to your property and daily life.
  • Tight Site – If you’re on a property that would make it hard for a truck to enter, we can build the secondary dwelling in your yard from scratch.

We pride ourselves on taking the guesswork and stress out of the process, so you can focus on what truly matters, welcoming your loved ones home.

A Smart Investment: Secondary Dwellings Can Now Be Rented Out!

Did you know that secondary dwellings can now be legally rented out? This opens up incredible opportunities for homeowners to generate passive income while also maximising the value of their property.

Adding a granny flat or modular home isn’t just about keeping family close, it’s also a strategic financial decision. Here’s why:

  • Earn Extra Income – Renting out a secondary dwelling can provide a steady stream of additional income, whether through long-term leasing or short-term rentals.
  • Increase Property Value – A well-designed, fully compliant modular home adds significant value to your existing property, making it a worthwhile investment for future resale.
  • Flexible Living Options – Whether you choose to rent the home, accommodate a family member, or use it as a guest house, a secondary dwelling provides unmatched versatility.
  • Cost-Effective Alternative to Buying – With housing prices on the rise, modular homes offer an affordable solution to homeownership without the financial burden of purchasing a separate property.
